Last day at the polls - VOTE VOWK!

Over the past couple of years, we have been witnesses to unprecedented encroachments over our rights and freedoms. As the Past President of the Drayton Valley Devon UCP Constituency Association, I was well aware of how far we have strayed from the Statement of Principles that were approved November 20, 2021 but presented at the 2020 UCP AGM.

United Conservative Statement of Principles
As a party, we stand united on the following principles that guide our vision for a stronger Alberta:
  • a) A robust civil society made up of free individuals, strong families, and voluntary associations.
  • b) Freedom of speech, worship and assembly, without government or corporate censorship of mainstream or social media.
  • c) Affirm the family as the building block of society and the means by which citizens pass on their values and beliefs and ensure that families are protected from intrusion by government.
  • d) Economic freedom in a market economy which encourages the creation of wealth through free enterprise, and protection of the right to own, enjoy and exchange property.
  • e) Limited government, including low levels of taxation to help generate economic growth while allowing Albertans to enjoy the fruits of their own labour.
  • f) Fiscal responsibility, including balanced budgets, debt reduction, and respect for taxpayers’ money.
  • g) Protecting public safety as a primary responsibility of government.
  • h) Control spending and dramatically reduce the size of government and encourage municipal governments to do the same.
  • i) protect and defend the ownership rights of Alberta to utilize its natural resources for the benefit of Albertans.
These are the core principles I believe and why I have made the decision to let my name stand for the nomination.

We need to get back to the basics of governance.
Consider voting for a principled and pragmatic approach to governance, minimizing government and moving this province forward together.

Nomination Candidate

DRAYTON VALLEY - DEVON
The Drayton Valley - Devon constituency encompasses a large area stretching from the communities to the west of Drayton Valley, north to highway 16, east to Acheson-Devon and follows the highway 39 corridor including the Breton area.

Much like our country and our province, the Drayton Valley - Devon constituency is very diverse with unique needs.  From natural resources like forestry, coal, oil & gas, agriculture, power generation to manufacturing and tourism we truly do live in a community filled with tremendous potential.
I believe we need to take a fresh approach in how we represent our constituents.

It's time for a paradigm shift with a fresh approach to governance that:

  • Breaks down barriers and focuses on strengths
  • Unifies community
  • Builds autonomy
  • Diversifies and stabilizes our economy

IN THE COMMUNITY

DV Health Foundation

March 2022- The Drayton Valley Health Foundation had the opportunity to showcase all the amazing equipment and enhancements made to the Health Complexes in Drayton Valley and Breton over the years to the Brazeau County Council. I am honoured to be a Director on the Drayton Valley Health Foundation as they strive to better our Health Care Facilities for our community.

Canada Day Parades and BBQs

July 2022 - I always find Canada Day such a humbling day. We truly live in the most amazing country in the World! As many of us have watched as freedoms have been challenged across the globe, we need to keep a mindful eye on our own backyard to insure we truly remain "glorious and free"!
My campaign team chartered me through the Drayton Valley Legion Pancake Breakfast and then on to the Drayton Valley Parade. It is great to see people that I don't normally have the opportunity to cross paths with. What an amazing community!
Off to Breton to participate in their parade and then joined them for the Pig Roast supper marking the 65th anniversary of the Town. Another extraordinary day meeting with the people of the Breton community.
A special thank you to all my team. It really is "All About Community"!

Warburg Heritage Days

June 2022 - Warburg Heritage Days on Saturday was a wonderful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together. Spending the day in Warburg fondly reminded me of the small central Alberta town I grew up in. The pride in the community clearly shows in the beautifully kept flowers along the streets, the manicured park and the welcoming atmosphere from the community.
Thank you Warburg for an awesome day!
